1. Construction of Toilets with support from Habitat for Humanity India Trust
Habitat for Humanity India Trust is a non-profit organization that builds homes and provides housing-related services to low-income, marginalized families across India. Habitat India began operations in 1983 and is today one of Habitat’s largest programmes in the Asia pacific region.
Habitat for Humanity India Trust had supported NCT with a zero percent interest fund for the construction of toilet units in rural areas of Karanja and Arvi blocks of Wardha district. HfHIT supports NGOs for construction of low cost houses in India. NCT had supported 250 rural households for construction of toilets with the help of Rs. 25.00 Lacs loans provided by HfHI in 2015-16. The loan was successfully repaid.
Presently, Mahindra Foundation & Habitat for Humanity India (HfHI) has sanctioned grant support to NCT for the construction of 175 toilet units in rural areas of Deoli blocks of Wardha district. Under this initiative, Mahindra Foundation & HfHI would be supporting Rs.20,000/- for construction of toilet unit to the needy beneficiary. NCT is implementing this work with the active involvement of beneficiary.
