ACTIVITIES OF THE TRUST:

MAJOR ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN BY THE TRUST DURING THE YEAR:

I. NABARD Supported Projects

4. Promotion of Self-Help Groups:

NCT has promoted over 12000 SHGs in 4 districts of Maharashtra and 3 districts of Madhya Pradesh. These SHGs have been formed since 2001. NCT has promoted federation of these SHGs to provide sustainability and supported their Community Managed Resource Centres (CMRCs). The Trust is providing handholding to all SHGs promoted during last 14 years.

Presently a 5000 SHG project is under implementation in Chhindwara and Seoni districts of Madhya Pradesh. NCT is promoting all these 5000 SHGs and credit-linking them with Satpuda Narmada Gramin Bank, Central Bank of India and Chhindwara District Central Co-operative bank in under process. As on 31/03/2015, about 4000 SHGs have been formed and the process of opening of Saving Bank account is progressing.

Apart from above, NCT is promoting 500 SHGs in Betul district and 500 W-SHGs in Seoni district of Madhya Pradesh State. Bankers support for all the above three projects is not as expected and even after NABARDís successful demonstration of SHG-Bank linkage success, Bankers are not coming forward to support SHGs, which is a cause of concern and hampered the progress of all three projects.
